The new Cercanías mobile application Renfe has exceeded 1.1 million downloads and updates since its launch on 30 July. It is a tool that allows users to consult information, plan trips and manage daily trips.
Since the launch, according to data released by Renfe this Friday, the application has registered 630,000 visits (160,000 unique visitors), a figure that shows the interest of passengers in the new digital services of Cercanías and in the functionalities incorporated to facilitate the travel experience.
In his opinion, one of the most significant indicators is the level of recurrence of use. The application registers around 25,000 unique daily users and an average dwell time of close to six minutes. These data show that the APP is not only being downloaded, but is also used on a daily basis as a tool for consultation and information while travelling.
Users value having real-time schedules and traffic data, the ability to save common routes and favorite stations, interactive maps, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based personalization tools.
Renfe also stressed that the simplification of the purchase process, the quick consultation of upcoming trains and the real-time monitoring of journeys contribute to consolidating the application as a «tool that is increasingly integrated into the daily mobility of passengers».
Since its launch, around 13,000 purchase confirmations have been registered, demonstrating the growing confidence of users in this digital way to manage their trips.
Likewise, he stressed that the purchases of single tickets made through the application reflect that it is not being used exclusively by those who use Cercanías on a recurring basis, but also by people who travel more sporadically and find in the application a fast, simple and accessible alternative to purchase their tickets.
