The start of the season for the Real Zaragoza is felt. It’s just around the corner. That first match measures the Maños against Nástic de Tarragona, this Sunday. Their record of only one win in nine summer friendlies keeps a watchful eye on the Catalans, who have two old acquaintances in their ranks: Eugeni Valderrama and Sinan Bakis.

The journey of Nástic de Tarragona leaves bad results before measuring forces against Real Zaragoza. It took five friendlies to know the victory. They lost to Andorra and Petro de Luanda (both 0-2) and drew against Olot (1-1), Girona (1-1) and the S.D. Huesca (2-2, with Huesca victory on penalties by 2-4).

Their only victory came on the August long weekend, on the day of the Assumption, against Valencia Mestalla. 0-1, with a goal from Enric Pujol, to achieve the only afternoon of relief in the preparation for the coming campaign. It starts, it should be remembered, on Sunday at 9:30 p.m., if everything goes according to plan.

The first opponent of the Real Zaragoza continued the summer journey with two more defeats. Villarreal B beat Nástic 2-0 and Espanyol’s reserve team won 3-0. In the last match, against El Catllar, they drew 0-0 to end up losing 2-1 on penalties. This clash was the most recent, last Sunday, August 23. They did so, however, full of players from lower categories.

EUGENI AND BAKIS

The Real Zaragoza can face this weekend with two old well-known players in their ranks. Eugeni Valderrama is the first and the one who wore the white jersey the most. In his 38 games he added one goal and one assist. He stayed a season and a half in the Aragonese capital.

Sinan Bakis is the second. In turn, the most recent. Between 2023 and 2026, with the comings and goings of loans, stays and injuries, he played 30 games, where he scored two goals, all of them last season.

The most recent situation warns Real Zaragoza. Between the laws of the former and bad results against teams that accumulate negative dynamics, the situation forces us not to be confident in the slightest.

THE HOME PREMIERE

For the first match in the Ibercaja Estadio we will have to wait another week. The Real Zaragoza is scheduled for its first match against Antequera on Saturday, September 5 at 9:00 p.m. After these first two duels, the state of the team will begin to be outlined.
