There are fewer players who were part of the Real Zaragoza squad that was relegated from professional football who have not found a team at this stage of the market. The latest to do so has been Valery Fernández after signing for Académico de Viseu in the Portuguese First Division.
The Girona winger has signed a one-year contract with the Portuguese club. «The club showed interest in me for several weeks and presented me with a very interesting project,» said the attacker in his presentation.
«I think I can bring experience, versatility, power, character and commitment. For my part, I will give it my all, I will always be professional and I will dedicate myself completely to the team so that we can achieve our goals,» he said.
HIS TIME AT REAL ZARAGOZA
Valery arrived at Real Zaragoza last summer as a star signing due to his career at Girona in both the Second and First Divisions. But expectations were never met with the winger both for his physical condition and for his performance on the field.
The Catalan winger only played 19 games with the white team in which he neither scored nor assisted. A shoulder injury that occurred in the final stretch of the season prevented him from being in the game when the Aragonese team was playing for its life and his passage ended up being testimonial in a black year for Real Zaragoza and for Valery himself.
