The Local Police of Zaragoza arrested a 28-year-old man on Wednesday for a crime against road safety and another for attacking law enforcement officers after fleeing through the city and the A-68. The events began at around 7:15 p.m. on Ciudad de Soria Avenue, when a patrol of the Motorcyclists Unit tried to stop a vehicle that caught its attention due to the loud noise coming from the exhaust pipe.
The driver reacted abruptly and fled in the direction of the exit of the city. During the journey, according to the Local Police, he drove at high speed, made sudden maneuvers and changed lanes constantly, putting other road users at risk. At one point in the chase he even attacked the police vehicle.
The density of traffic finally forced the driver to slow down when he was driving on the A-68, at the height of the Monzalbarba neighborhood. It was then that the agents managed to intercept the vehicle. Several patrols went to the scene after the coordination of the Central Operations Unit and collaborated in the arrest of the man, who offered active resistance.
For these facts, he was arrested for manifest reckless driving, having endangered the integrity of other people, and for the crime of attack against law enforcement officers.
ANOTHER INTERVENTION ON THE SAME DAY
In another intervention carried out that same afternoon, the Local Police arrested a 35-year-old man for fraudulently using another person’s credit card. The events dated back to previous days, when the victim reported a theft inside his vehicle.
The man would have made six payments in different establishments in Zaragoza, all of them located in the vicinity of the Delicias neighborhood. After carrying out several inquiries, the agents recognized the alleged perpetrator for having intervened with him on previous occasions and finally located him on Alonso V Street, where he was arrested and brought to justice.
