Aragonese exports have gained weight in recent years and are already one of the engines of the region’s economy. The automotive industry and other productive sectors have strengthened their presence in international markets, with Aragón among the territories with the highest commercial activity.

The community has closed June 2026 with a new increase in its exports. Foreign sales have reached 1,496.7 million euros, 8.3% more than in June last year. Growth exceeds the Spanish average, which has been 5.3%, and places Aragon as the fourth autonomous community that has increased its exports the most.

ARAGON SELLS MORE AND BUYS LESS ABROAD

While exports have grown, imports have fallen sharply. In June, Aragon bought products from abroad worth 1,700 million euros, 16.5% less than a year ago. Thanks to this difference, the monthly trade deficit has been greatly reduced. It has gone from 654.5 million euros in June 2025 to 203.3 million this June, which represents a drop of 68.9%.

THE FIRST SEMESTER ENDS ON POSITIVE

Between January and June, Aragonese companies exported products worth 8,008.4 million euros, 4.8% more than during the same period in 2025. In those six months, imports have reached 7,944.4 million euros, 14.1% less. This leaves a positive trade balance of 64.1 million euros. In other words, Aragon has sold abroad more than it has bought.

AUTOMOTIVE LEADS EXPORTS

The automobile sector continues to be the sector that sells the most outside of España. Its exports have reached 2,058.7 million euros, 31.7% more than a year ago, and represent just over a quarter of all Aragonese sales abroad.

Behind are Food and Beverages, with 1,629.8 million euros; semi-manufactures, with 1,581.4 million; and capital goods, with 1,346.7 million. Together, industry and technology account for 64.4% of all Aragon exports.

FRANCE, GERMANY AND ITALY ARE THE MAIN CUSTOMERS

Europe continues to be the most important market for Aragon and receives 80.1% of its exports. France is the main buyer, with 1,594.4 million euros, followed by Germany, Italy and Portugal.

Sales to the United States have also increased, reaching 149.2 million euros in the first half of the year, 12.7% more than a year ago. In June, exports grew both to Europe and to the Americas, while sales to Asia fell slightly by 0.6%.
