The Government of Aragon will invest nearly 1 million euros in two projects aimed at improving smart and sustainable mobility and water management. The initiatives, selected in a call from the regional executive, will receive more than 549,000 euros in subsidies from the European Regional Development Fund.
The two selected projects are MOVIA and CAUCE. The first is focused on moving towards smart, sustainable and inclusive mobility, while the second seeks to improve the management of water heritage through digital technologies and greater cooperation between autonomous communities.

MOVIA WILL DRIVE SMART AND SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY
MOVIA has a global budget of 628,767 euros and will receive a subsidy of 364,701 euros. Its objective is to create a supra-regional innovation ecosystem that facilitates the incorporation of clean, connected and sustainable technologies into mobility. The project brings together administrations, companies, SMEs and technology centres from different autonomous communities.
In Aragon, the Technological Institute of Aragon (ITA) will carry out actions worth 85,012 euros, of which 34,004 euros will come from the CDTI and the remaining 51,008 euros will be contributed by the Directorate General of Industry. The works will address issues such as clean fuels, connected and automated mobility, last-mile logistics, digitalisation, connectivity, industrial competitiveness and battery reuse.
RIVERBED WILL SEEK TO IMPROVE WATER MANAGEMENT AND RESILIENCE
The second project, CAUCE, has a total budget of 329,201 euros and will mobilise around 184,000 euros in funding. Aragon will participate through the Aragonese Water Institute (IAA) and the ZINNAE cluster, which will develop actions for 79,788 euros. Of that amount, 31,914 euros will come from the CDTI and another 47,874 euros will be contributed by the Directorate General of Industry.
CAUCE aims to improve the capacity of territories to face water-related challenges. Among the planned actions are the analysis of water resilience, the preparation of maps of infrastructures, the improvement of information systems, the creation of management indicators and new methodologies that help administrations, municipalities and productive sectors to make decisions.
MORE KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER AND NEW R+D+i PROJECTS
With both projects, the regional government seeks to strengthen the transfer of knowledge between research and companies, increase the presence of Aragon in national networks of innovation and promote new R+D+i projects. The intention is that MOVIA and CAUCE will also serve to attract additional funding in the coming years and generate economic activity and qualified employment in two priority sectors: sustainable and connected mobility and water management.
