[EN] The Registrars activate their Emergency Portal for the fire in Huesca

The College of Registrars reported this Thursday the activation of the Emergency Registry Portal in the face of the damage caused by the fire declared in the province of Huesca, so that those affected can identify damaged plots, farms and buildings.

The College of Registrars will update the information published on the Emergency Registry Portal, with geographical information from the Copernicus system, and will provide a global view of the impact of fires. It will also serve for the victims to prove the current ownership of their properties, which will be key to managing compensation and aid from the administrations.

THE FIRE IS STILL ACTIVE IN THE JACETANIA

The fire in the province of Huesca, still active and out of control in much of its perimeter, began on August 10 in the vicinity of Santa Cruz de la Serós and San Juan de la Peña, in the region of La Jacetania (Huesca).

The fire affected an extensive area of high environmental, landscape and heritage value, and reached the surroundings of the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña, considered one of the main historical symbols of Aragón. Likewise, the fire impacted forest masses of great ecological and landscape wealth that make up one of the most outstanding natural enclaves of the Aragonese Pre-Pyrenees.

CASI 6,000 HECTARES OF FORESTS OF PUBLIC UTILITY AFFECTED

The analyses carried out also identify effects on 5,995.07 hectares of Public Utility Forests. Among the affected mountains are Huértalo or Sierra; Paco Mosquera; Paul Mayor, Mosquera del Gallo, Solano de Pallarón, Balsera, Las Coronas and Horcal; La Carrosa and Valdestremera; El Aturio; La Carruaca; Castellazos and Tafarras; Plan Duque and Solano Valarbesa; Cúculo; Boyeral; Cúculo, Boalar and Arrasos; Puy del Pino; Barzada or Socarrada; Carbonera, Horcal and Boalar; Oroel, Paco y Solano, Socarrada, Villar de Sarsa, Vatiguano y Larrín, Ballaprica and others; Sierra del Valle de Estier; Mosquera and Paco; Monte Alto; Pardina de Lagé; Pardina de Cerzún; Mosquera and Martineta; La Mosquera; Monte Bajo; Aurín; San Juan de la Peña; Neck; Coronazo and Cercito, all of them of high environmental and forestry value.

MORE THAN 3,000 HECTARES OF PROTECTED NATURAL AREAS

The fire has also affected 3,032 hectares of Protected Natural Areas. Specifically, the affected area is located within the «San Juan de la Peña y Monte Oroel» Protected Landscape, one of the most outstanding natural and scenic enclaves in Aragon.

The fire has impacted extensive forest masses of great ecological and landscape value, as well as the surroundings of San Juan de la Peña, a space of extraordinary historical, cultural and environmental relevance linked to the origins of the ancient Kingdom of Aragon. All this highlights the effect of fire on areas of special interest for the conservation of natural heritage, biodiversity and landscape.

349 FINCAS Y 42 EDIFICACIONES AFFECTED

According to preliminary data, almost 14,453.55 hectares have been burned, in the municipalities of Bailo, Caldearenas, Jaca, Las Peñas de Riglos, Santa Cilia and Santa Cruz de la Serós, affecting 349 registered properties and 42 buildings.
