After getting underway this past Tuesday, Casademont Zaragoza has already completed its first week of preseason under the orders of Gonzalo García de Vitoria. Precisely, the red-and-white coach has offered a brief assessment of the first days, making a positive balance and highlighting, above all, the good state in which a squad that still cannot count on the internationals Trae Bell-Haynes, Nico Brussino and Roberts Blumbergs has arrived.
«We finished the first week and happy, things as they are. The people have arrived very well and are taking the first concepts well too,» said the coach of the Aragonese team, satisfied with the evolution of a team that faces a summer of important changes and that still has a lot of work ahead of it to put all its new pieces in place.
In addition, García de Vitoria wanted to highlight the role of physical trainers Mariano Bein and Kike Aztarain in a first week in which physical conditioning has played a particularly important role. «In this first week the absolute bosses are Mariano and Quique,» explained the coach, who acknowledged that the initial objective has been more focused on the guidelines established by the physical trainers: «The objective has been more what they set than what we set.»
THE START OF PRE-SEASON
In this way, Casademont Zaragoza closes a first week of preparation with good feelings and with the players beginning to familiarize themselves with the first ideas of Gonzalo García de Vitoria. From next Monday, the red-and-white team will face a new week of work with the aim of continuing to raise the tactical and physical level before facing next Friday, August 28, their first friendly of the preseason against Ilerna Lleida in Binéfar.
After the duel against the Lleida team, Casademont will travel to Benasque to carry out its traditional summer training camp that will precede the rest of the friendlies that the red club will play against La Laguna Tenerife, Valencia Basket, Elan Bearnais, Pau Lacq-Orthez and UCAM Murcia. All this to arrive with the team fully fit for the debut in the ACB against La Laguna Tenerife on September 27.
