Zaragoza will once again become a meeting point for motor enthusiasts with the celebration of the Rally Cierzo Ejército de Tierra, final round of the Spain All-Terrain Rally Championship (CERTT-GT2i). From September 4 to 6, nearly 100 teams will take part this year in a competition that will bring together riders from different parts of Spain and also from countries such as Portugal or the United Kingdom.
As a prelude to the competition, from August 24 to 29 several of the participating vehicles, which also toured the Paris Dakar, will be exhibited in the indoor area of the upper floor of Puerto Venecia, allowing the public to bring this discipline closer.
Puerto Venecia will be the main venue and logistics centre of the event, hosting the service park, technical equipment and vehicle maintenance operations during the days of competition. The shopping resort will also be the scene of different moments open to the public, from the preliminary verifications to the start and the awards ceremony.
MORE THAN 340 KILOMETERS OF COMPETITION
The 2026 edition will have about 100 teams registered, with riders from all over Spain and an international presence. In the last edition, six different nationalities participated, a diversity that will be maintained this year with registrations also from countries such as Portugal or England.
The sporting activity will begin on Friday, September 4 when the prologue test will be held in the surroundings of Pina de Ebro, which will serve as the first contact before the main day. At 8:00 p.m., Puerto Venecia will host the official opening ceremony and public presentation of the event. On the 5th and 6th, the public will be able to enjoy the cars and motorcycles that will be in the service park located in the Ikea car park.
On Saturday, September 5, the central day of the rally will arrive, with more than 340 kilometers of competition and departure from Puerto Venecia. During the course, the teams will face different sections that will test both speed and navigation, mechanical resistance and the ability to adapt to changing terrain. To conclude, on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. the prizes will be awarded in Puerto Venecia, on the terraces.
In addition, beyond the competition, the Cierzo Rally has maintained for years a solidarity dimension linked to the sale of official merchandising whose proceeds will be used to support the work of the San Juan de Dios Hospital.
