The workers of the Blood and Tissue Bank of Aragón have wanted to do their bit in the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The staff has collaborated with the association Juntos Venceremos ALS through the acquisition of solidarity chocolate, the proceeds of which will contribute to financing research into this disease, as the Aragonese entity has shared on its social networks.
The initiative is part of Chocolat-ELA Vida, a campaign promoted by Juntos Venceremos ELA together with the Aragonese firm Nakoa that seeks to turn such an everyday gesture as buying a chocolate bar into an aid for people affected by ALS. The tablets are priced at 2.50 euros and allocate between 0.67 and 0.71 euros per unit, depending on the variety, to the cause.

The campaign pursues a double objective: to raise funds and give visibility to the ELA, as well as to demand the effective application of the ELA Law. The project aims to reach 50,000 euros in donations and distribute the funds among the Health Research Institute of Aragon (IIS Aragón), ARAELA and adELA Madrid, intended both for research and to support patients and families.
With their participation, the employees of the Blood and Tissue Bank of Aragon are thus incorporated into a solidarity network in which entities, companies and individuals participate. A collaboration that shows that a small gesture, in this case in the form of chocolate, can also contribute to promoting research and keeping visible the reality of those who live with ALS.
