[EN] The Tambores de Teruel Cultural Association makes Italy fall in love with the beat of the drum

The Cultural Association Tambores de Teruel marked a milestone in its trajectory this Sunday by debuting for the first time in Italy as part of the closing of the 30th edition of the Ariano Folkfestival (AFF), one of the most emblematic world music festivals <a href=»https://www.aragondigital.es/tags/musica/»> world music in southern Europe.

The Teruel group starred in the «Street Parade» on Sunday in the 30th edition of the contest, making the historic center vibrate from the Villa Comunale to the FolkStage. The performance marks the group’s premiere on Italian stages within an internationally renowned festival.

The thunderous sound of drums and bass drums captivated neighbors and international attendees, culminating the march in the main venue of Piazzale Calvario. The press and the official program of the event highlighted the power of the Spanish team, describing how their drums managed to «make the chest and the city vibrate».

Founded in 1987 and on the verge of commemorating its 40th anniversary, the Tambores de Teruel Cultural Association continues to expand the horizons of traditional Aragonese percussion, adapting the rhythmic force of its land to contemporary stage formats and street shows such as its recent production De tierra y tambor. After having previously performed in countries such as France, Portugal or Morocco, this successful passage through Italy reaffirms their role as cultural ambassadors of Teruel and Aragon in major European festivals.
