The line between Zaragoza and Sagunto has suffered «a new delay» until the first quarter of 2027. This has been denounced by the regional deputy of the PP, Javier Domingo, who recalled that his party has already warned that this would be the usual trend.

This new deadline corresponds to the section between Caminreal and Cariñena, which will remain closed until March 1 due to geotechnical problems and adverse weather phenomena, as published by Diario de Teruel, who has reported that the rest of the route is expected to open in December.

«A work that should have been completed in November 2025 and that is going to accumulate a year and a half of delay for the moment,» criticized Domingo, who accused the president of España, Pedro Sánchez, of not caring about this infrastructure and the province of Teruel as he is focused on «its survival».

In addition, the popular has warned of the economic damage and the structuring of this region caused by the cutting of this line. He added that the alternative offered by Renfe to travel by bus is «insufficient» because there are «longer travel times and greater discomfort» compared to the train, in addition to the fact that it is causing a loss of loyalty in users.

On the other hand, the deputy has called on the PSOE of Teruel and Pilar Alegría to come out to denounce «this injustice». «They are not there, nor are they expected, because the only thing that matters to them is to defend Pedro Sánchez,» he said, also pointing to the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente.
