Casademont Zaragoza Women get rolling with the start of the preseason

The red club, which has had seven of its thirteen players, has carried out the relevant medical examinations on Monday before training for the first time on the court on Tuesday

Casademont Zaragoza has started rolling this Monday with the return to work and the start of its preseason. The rojilla squad, which has seven of the thirteen players that make up the team this new season, has passed the relevant medical examinations on a morning where the presentation by Carla Brito has also taken place as a new player of the Aragonese club. All this before carrying out this coming Tuesday afternoon the first training session under the orders of Carlos Cantero who returns after his paternal leave.

In addition to Carla Brito, three of Casademont’s new additions this summer have also passed the tests: Aisha Sheppard, Yarden Garzon and Kristine Vitola. Along with them, three of the members who made up last year’s squad have also been present at the health facilities: Helena Oma, Merritt Hempe and Laia Flores.

In this way, Cantero, who will return to take charge from day one, will not be able to count on almost half of the squad at the start of a preseason where those absent in the first days of work will be incorporated in dribs and drabs. Mariona Ortiz and Nerea Hermosa with Spain and Veronika Voráčková with the Czech Republic continue to be immersed in preparation for the World Cup, while Nadia Fingall and Ornella Bankolé continue with their participation in the WNBA. In addition to an Astou Ndour that will not arrive until January in the Aragonese capital.

PRE-SEASON

In this way, Carlos Cantero’s team have returned to work this Monday and after the ‘stage’ in Benasque that will take place from August 31 to September 3 they will begin to compete with the friendlies. The first preparation match will come on September 10, when Casademont will face Inversus Gernika Bizkaia from 8:00 p.m. in the Navarrese town of Olite.

The preseason will continue with a double header against the Greek Athinaikos WBC who, precisely, share a group with the red-and-white club in the first phase of the Euroleague. The first will be played on September 18, at 8:30 p.m., in Ejea de los Caballeros. Meanwhile, the second will be two days later at the Príncipe Felipe in the dispute of the Ibercaja Ciudad de Zaragoza Trophy at 5:30 p.m. 

The last rehearsal before the official premiere will come on September 23, when Casademont visits Torres de Berrellén to face Azul Marino New Travel at 9:00 p.m. It will be the last test before heading to Torrejón de Ardoz, where the rojillas will defend the Super Cup title.
